My favourite books on Tropicals

Hi All,

Whilst we can all learn from 'generalist' gardening books, these are the books which really light my fire:

William Warren - Thai Garden Style, The Tropical Garden, Balinese Gardens
Made Wijaya - Tropical Garden Design
Barry and Lake - Gardening with Australian Rainforest Plants

The first two authors both draw on the incredible photographic skills of Luca Tettoni to present us with some truly incredible vistas of tropical beauty. Some of the cordylines and philodendrons in one of Bill Warren's books had me wishing that I had made my last OS destination Hawaii instead of Indonesia - words fail me, but you'll know what I mean if you have 'The Tropical Garden'.

By contrast, the final book is a simpler tome, and the gardens featured are simpler in design and execution. For all that, its very inspiring to see Aussie rainforest plants used to create gardens that most of us would be proud to call our own.

While I have a lot of other books on gardening, these are the only examples of books which specifically target the tropical gardener. If anyone knows of other titles, I'd be more than happy to hear from you.

Cheers,

Artie

The Tropical Look by Robert Lee Riffle is superb. It is on sale at the moment here in one of the inner city Brisbane stores.
