| I have some Oldhamii growing on my property and would like to propagate from it.I have tried division with little success(and boy that was hard work).Can anyone tell me the secret? |

| When choosing sections of rhizome to cut/divide,select a piece with an older culm attached to it,there will be more vigour in it.Try dusting the cut section with rooting hormone.Watering may also in well with seasol ,may also assist. |

| Remember when taking the division from the ground to always cut the top of the plant/culm to a height of 2 1/2 meters or less. Even when the culm is bare with no branches if at the nodes they do not have the typical brown dead spot and instead have the bump at the node they will branch very quickly. Put in shade and water daily early as possible before the heat of the day sets in. In 3-4 weeks put in half sun location and continue the watering daily for a period of about 2 months. Then start to fertilize as normal. |
