 o
Brugmansia

Posted by purkit NSW (My Page) on

Is there anyone growing a collection of brugmansia or angels trumpets. I have heard rumours of a gardener in Sydney with a collection of 50 varieties but have not been able to track this person down.

I have 6 colour varieties and 2 daturas but would certainly be interested in the double apricot featured in the book by the German specialist located in Hannover. I have been told it was growing in Adelaide gardens however I am a little sceptical about that.

There is a wonderful group grown in pots of course at the Herrenhauserschloss in Hannover and this one orginated in there I believe.

Any help would be gratefully received. cheers

Here is a link that might be useful: brugmansia growers international

Unfortunately I don't know but would like to as well. I have 4 angels, double white, apricot, yellow, white and 1 datura (double yellow). I also borrowed a book from our botanic gardens library that would make a brug lover drool.

I am growing a number of Brugmansias (B.versicolor, B. candida). I find them excellent for the Tropical look. Their scent at night is superb. Not many nurseries around Sydney have the varieties.

http://www.montburggardens.com.au/ has two sanguinea an orange and a yellow in this months catalogue.
Shaman botanicals at byron Bay have a couple of brugs listed and also a few daturas.
Mya Diggers catalogue has an apricot and a pink.
I too would like to know where to find some different ones but unfortunately we can not bring seed of Brugs into Australia

RE: Brugmansia

Been here in Qld 3 years and still looking for Brugmansias for my garden.
I had over 20 varieties in my garden and nursery in Los Angeles and loved using them in landscaping jobs.
Does anyone know of any place in Qld.
