I have tried my hand at growing some Neo's from seed purely as an experiment. The seedlings will be a year old in April and are still very small less than a centimetre.
Is this normal growing speed.Should I be giving them a feed any time soon? |

| Hello mel - I have been growing aechmeas from seed and over that time the leaves are about 2-3 cm long but they have started to grow noticeabley in the last two weeks - I gave them half strength seaweed one week ago. These will eventually be very big plants - are your neos from minis or standard size - I would say that it is normal but cant comment about fertiliser as this is my first attempt at growing broms from seed also. I have not been able to get a single seed from my neos - they dont seem to set any. I have also had success with vriesias but they did take many months to germinate. The aechmeas, if fresh, and soaked in water for 24 hours germinate within two weeks. |

| Very slow from seed, but they will get there. the bonus is if one or two are a little un-common. |
