Great time for planting tropicals

I went to the ginger flower festival recently and saw an amazing variety of plants. However, I could not believe how expensive they were compared to Horganics at Chandler. I was impressed with Horganics as they have increased their varieties and kept their prices very low. Ive found some varieties of heliconias and gingers that ive been searching for, for ages - such as the heliconia nappi, lingulata, spissa and some costus gingers. they have a website - www.horganics.com.au

Hi Jessie Of course they are going to be dearer at a time like that. I was up the Sunshine Coast last August and called into the Ginger Factory and bought two big bee hive $10 each and a torch ginger even bigger $12 and they were a lot cheaper than what you can get at say Bunnings here for instant.

Only problem with that website is they never put the prices on why, or where they are I see you write Chandler and thats a fair drive from where I live near Beenleigh and just having another look, its the same now, ring for a appointment is not the way I want to buy my things especially if you don't have good health and why no mail order on line.. I don't want to ring or write to find out prices or where to go to buy them. I want to go when I am able.. I am sure you can see my point also..

Hi misty morn,

You have to remember that Horganics are wholesale growers and not a retail nursery open to the public. I guess this is why I like them so much cos I can always rely on their consistent low pricing all year round. I bought a beehive ginger from them for $9 recently.

The quality of their plants is excellent, everything that I have bought from them has grown beutifully, that is why I wanted to share them with garden webbers.

If you want their price list so badly, why dont you simply ring them or email them and request it.
