Bomarea caldasii

Hello everybody!
Could someone explain me how to grow a"Bomarea caldasii"into the ground !
My nurseryman told me to keep it in pot,because he could not keep them alive when putting into the soil....
I have read on the net,the contrary !
I know it needs a good drainage,and not much water in the summer time.
What else ?

| It prefers a cool area to grow and in part shade in a rich humous soil and mulched. |
