Anyone got any of these in their garden?
I've bought the 'Iron Range' variety, which looks really good. The leaves are stunning.
It's about 0.8 of a metre high.
I'm just curious to see how they are when they're bigger

Roy, I have this species growing like mad in the Tweed area. Its Breynia stipitata (syn cernua) with blackish foliage. It retains this throughout its life. The tallest plants I have seen are council planted ones in Cairns. They are about 4m tall and 2.5m wide. easily grown by cuttings. The typical B. stipitata plants that I have sucker profusely and one plant is now up to 4 from its original planting hole. I havent seen this form suckering however some friends from Coffs Harbour consider this to be a weedy plant- I however havent seen this happen here. Down here I expect 2m to be the maximum height. from Kris |

Thanks Kris There are obviously a few different types around. The one I have has dark green/blue leaves, with the new growth being a reddish colour. But, given the humidity here, I think it will go well. Cheers Roy |
