Boronia - Purple Jared is curling up it's leaves

I have planted a Boronia - Purple Jared in the garden and it has been fine for two months.

Just in the last week, it is slowly curling up all the top leaves and looks like it's really struggling.

It hasn't grown a lot since it's been planted but I wasn't sure if it was a fast growing plant or not, so I wasn't too worried but it really looks quite sick now.

Any ideas?

We have had a lot of rain in the last week, could that be it?

If it is a variety of Boronia megastigma then it is likely that it has been grown from cuttings in which case it is doomed. Boronia megastigma does not seem to produce a strong root system from cuttings.

The only way you are likely to have success with Boronia megastigma is if you obtain a grafted plant on strong root stock.

Thanks for your message.

It is getting more brown as the days go by.

I am going to dig it up tomorrow to see what has happened.

What a shame. I might plant a different Callistemon instead.
