Sturt Desert Peas

Hi there. Can anyone help me? I am growing some Sturt Desert Peas and have noticed that they are getting some yellowing of their lower leaves. I read on a site that they can be fed with liquid fertilizer? I know they can be temperamental if overwatered. They only get sub mulch water, none overhead unless it rains. I would also like to save the seeds...when do I pick the pods? Hope someone more knowledgeable can help me. Thanks a million. Green Grub :-)

I grow them regularly in NSW which is a different kettle of fish, but for what it's worth I find them gross feeders - heaps of food and don't worry about the native stuff. Iron rich fertilizers might be best for the yellowing of the older leaves. Summmer is not a good time to grow them in Sydney and in Central Australia mid winter seems best but for southern SA i have no input. They're worth the effort of a few failures. Ciao
