| Can anyone tell me why Bacopa dies after a few months in Brisbane. I had a beauty, but several of my friends assured me it would only last a couple of months. I did manage three!

| What do you mean by Bacopa? In the US it's a name they use for the South African Sutera. In Australia we have true Bacopa in the form of the cosmopolitan aquatic B. monnieri, usually treated as a native. I think the Sutera usually grown is (from memory) one called 'Snowflake', possibly a form of S. cordata. I have found it very short-lived in Sydney too, though persisting longer in a Blue Mountains garden I am involved with, so I guess it needs a cooler climate. |

| Tony, I am not sure exactly, because the ticket only says "Bacopa Abunda tm." I couldn't find anything on the Internet about it, except on the breeders website, but that was only how to order it. It needs heaps of water but I wouldn't have thought that is an aquatic. It is said to be excellent for pots and hanging baskets, but maybe it doesn't like our humidity. Sally |
