What I have learned Growing Natives

Hi All, I am relatively new to the garden world however I wanted to share what I've learned over the years with growing and taking care of Australian natives.

* where possible plant under gumtrees. reason being is that gum tree's have very few feeder roots to rob your new plant of nutrients and moisture
*Dont be afraid to fertilize your natives during the warmer months as they are growing. Just be sure to use a ferttilizer labelled "suitable for natives"
*Severe pruning promotes great growth so dont be afraid to prune more than you normally would.
*Save water and fertiliser by replacing lawn grass with groundcovers which do not require mowing or edging such as Dichondra, Pratia or Microlaena stipoides.

Hope this helps,
Emma
