Hi Phil
No, I don't have one of these, I wasn't aware of them until your post.
They are a rare plant though.

Actually, they very common in Melbourne - they are sold in most nurseries. A popular shade plant.

It is good to get that sort of info Nathan.
You look at websites and see that plants like this are rated rare in WA, yet you hear that it's common in Melbourne.
I guess there are probably lots of other plants like that.
Most of the plants in our garden could be considered "local" but we certainly have a few "ring ins".
Perhaps I will look at the quercifolia, just to see if it works in a humid Gosford garden.

Phil,

Maybe you should buy a book or two on Australian plants. The book by Wrigley and Fagg covers Thomasia and I have another book (probably out of print now) that has photos of a couple of species. They seem to have cup-shaped pink to purple flowers and hairy leaves.

Cheers,
Frank

Phil, I have an old edition of Wrigley & Fagg. It is fairly comprehensive and in my opinion one of the best references for Australian native plants, but it does not have photos of each plant unfortunately. I think that is its major drawback.

Cheers,
Frank

Have you looked at the Thomasia website? There is much info about Thomasias here, and pictures of many species, although unfortunately not of T. quercifolia.

Here is a link that might be useful: Thomasia website
