| Telopea truncata does best at higher altitudes usually growing at 800m or so. It's probably worth a try as it is a lovely little flower. Jane |

| I doubt there is anywhere in Belgium at 800m above sea level. |

| Belgium gets snow, so it's probably got a fairly suitable climate :) As for where to get it in Belgium. No idea. |

Based on experience from our part of the world I would rate Telopea hardiness as follows T. speciocissima -10C T. oreades/mongaensis -12C T. truncata -14C or lower hybrids.... don't know, they are not available here. I hope to have T. truncata and oreades seed next year. There are some on the Oregon coast that flower. These plants also endured -12C in 1990 without harm. In the meantime seed of T. truncata can be had from Wildseed Tasmania. |

Hello Antoine I am in Belgium too (Brasschaat, near Antwerp) and am growing two Telopea truncata plants raised from seed. They have survived some 8 winters outside (with some cover,) growing steadily but slowly, no flowers yet. Just want to let you know that they are certainly worth trying here - if you can get them. Seed has only germinated once out of 3 tries. |
