low growing aus native ground cover

I'm in the process of removing the remaining back lawn, including what is under the rotary washing line. So I'm looking for recommendations for a low growing ground cover for beneath the clothes line. There will be a path from one side of line to the other via the central pole, so the ground cover will not be stepped upon in the normal course of clothes hanging, though resistance to some trampling would be an advantage. Location Perth, soil > the typical Perth sand! gets reasonable sunlight, some shade through day.

I did a google search and came up with this site:

that might be helpful if you like any of those.

Have you considered a native lawn? You could try weeping grass or a mix of wallaby and red grass. Ask your local indigenous nursery or do a search. You won't need water for the wallaby/red grass mix once established.

Scaevola albida is one of my favourites. It flowers vigorously nearly all the time, and makes a good dense mat about 10cm deep, which wouldn't let any dropped items get in contact with the soil. I have no idea, though how it would cope with your sandy soil. In our rather clayey soil (Toowoomba) you'd get good quick results from planting at 30cm centres. It does root down as it goes,so you could make do with buying fewer plants, but I imagine that under a clothesline some fairly quick cover would be wanted?
