Removing Bees

Posted by mallee South Australia (My Page) on

We have a hive of bees in a hollow branch of a Eucalypt which is very close (within 2 metres) to the house. The tree must go but the bees need to be disposed of first. I have tried all sorts of things to either kill them or encourage them to move on over the past few months but they persist. Any proven methods?

If you want to kill them you'd need something effective like Mortein European Wasp Killer and fast shoes as they'll get pretty agro.

Maybe try a piece of cloth soaked in diesel fuel placed near the opening of the hollow.

Use a spray as suggested, but do it at dusk, when they are placid and have all come back to the hive. Avoid doing it on windy days, when they will be more aggro than usual.
