I bought my avocado and lychee from the nursery at the below link. They are great healthy trees. They have a range of berries.

Here is a link that might be useful: daley's fruit trees

i've gotten several replies. the most useful is http://farrer.riv.csu.edu.au/ASGAP/APOL22/jun01-1.html It
should have lit up as a link. ??
I've seen and tasted the tropical variety in puerto rico. It was growing on the slopes of El Yunque in the rain forest. It was quite "viney" in shape, few berries, they tasted good. They are considered a pest there outside of the forest. They are the variety rubus probus One person here in Florida is growing rubus moluccanus triloba to some effect. States the drupes are quite large and not as "cohesive" as usually seen. She will be sending me a photo.
Extensive research has conbvinced me to try the mulberry pakistani instead and use a pruning method to hold it to 8 feet. Almost to a person the fruit is described as luscious with a raspberry flavor, very large fruit and good for all uses. It comes from Islamabad Pakistan so you can check the climate compared to yours. We just had 2 nites at and just below freezing, our spring is mild, summers are hot and humid. If you can contact puerto ricans they can perhaps send seeds. We were there early August and they were fruiting at that time. Good luck :)
