Can anyone suggest a plant for a container

Would someone suggest a tall, bushy Australian Native plant that would do well in a large container. The container is about 80 litres (20 gallons) and is situated where it receives full sun.

Regards,
Marshall

I have Stenocarpus Sinuatus in just such a position, and its doing fine. Too big (in combination with existing trees) for my garden, but reputedly great in a tub.

Hope this helps,

Artie

What a great opportunity to grow something that would not do so well in your soil. A tall growing Grevillea eg Grevillea "Moonlight" or any of the very showy Grevilleas which flower for a long time, or the taller Leptospermums (Tea tree) or a Banksia eg Banksia coccinea which is not easy in the ground. I would also check out Kevin Handrek's book 'Gardening Down Under' published by the CSIRO as he has a few things to say about potting mixes in very large containers.

Artie and Mallee,

Many thanks for the suggestions. I hadn't given a thought to planting a Grevillia as I have lost so many of them. A great opportunity, as you say.

Regards,
Marshall
