Hi gardenwebbers
Can anyone tell me why this tea tree (pink pearl I think)has flowered and also a protea and yet my oleander which is 2 years old remains at 1 1/2 foot and has never bloomed, nor has my banksia which is probably about 4 foot, a paperbark and a cardwelli leptospernum ( I think) some of these seem to be a bit more shaded than others, could that be why? The area is well mulched and gets watered for 1/2 hour ecvery three days and there are plenty of worms in the soil. Where am I going wrong?
Also with syzygiums such as little gem and another one which is about 3 foot and in heavy shade, should these ber pruned and when? Please see next post about shade +++ to see where the other plants are situated
thanks Jan

RE: What should I do?

Hi Jan I have about twelve white Oleanders growing half in full sun and the others in afternoon sun and I dont water them much at all they seem to like it hot and dry, and they all flower.

Most melaleucas (paperbarks) will grow in shade but flowering may be reduced, I prune all my natives so they will go bushy, I dont know if there is a right time for it, I do it anytime except in the winter or if they are flowering. Cheers..MM.
