transplanting melaleuca

hi all

i have a 3 year old malaleuca armalaris in good condition about 2 mtrs tall which i would like to move to a open spot in the garden.

is there a preferred way to ensure its survival etc?

any advice appreciated

Give it a good soak a day or so before moving it. Cut the shrub back quite hard, it will sprout again and be quite bushy. Cut back to decent foliage. (this plant can be cut back quite severely). Take as much root system as you can. When moved make sure it is watered in well. Probably worth using a seaweed solution to water in.If you are going to do it, right now is the time. Best of luck.

Why do you want to move it if it is in good conition? Obviously it likes the conditions where it is, so that is possibly the best place for it. If you want it in a more prominant position, perhaps you should plant another one. Either way, you should take cuttings so that you have a back-up plant.
