Is this the Desert Quandong seed in germination?

I bought a few tubes of Small Leaf Tamarind 2 weeks ago and while I was repotting them to planter bags, I discovered what looked like a Desert Quandong (Santulum acuminatum) seed among one of the tubes. I have seen plenty of Desert Quandong seeds (but not other Santu, lum seeds) and have tried to germinate them without success, but this one is not perfectly round, instead it has a slight flat surface to one part. Also it has 2 small protrusions from the hard shell. They look like leaves not rootd to me. So, 2 questions:

1) Is this Santulum acuminatum or some other Santulum species?
2) Does it germinate with leaves first before the radicle?

A picture would be very handy :)

If it is a quandong, I'm not sure your tamarind would be able to support them at that size - might be better to put them in the ground with a grass or something?
