Does anyone have experience or information on grafting Eucalyptus and Corymbia? More specifically I am wondering what species have been used for rootstock (western species scion/eastern rootstock)

Thanks-

David

If you try you are probably bound to fail. It's taken many, many years for the grafters to perfect the technique; the ones on the market today are the results of those many years of trial and failure. I learned grafting at horticultural college (Ryde in Sydney) and I've tried a few but so far have had no success. Much easier to go buy one.

If they were available in my area I would do that. I have not seen them anywhere in US, at least none available on the internet.

I didn't realise you were in the US. Makes it even more difficult, Australian natives, despite amazing advances in recent decades - they failed for many years - are still regarded as 'difficult'. Sorry, I can't help you much, propagators keep their techniques very secret, especially in respect of eucalypts. All I can say is good-luck, grafting isn't reliable at the best of times, I know, I've tried a few!
