Banksia robur leaves going brown

Just wondering if anyone can help with a problem with a baby Banksia robur I planted about a month ago. It is producing new growth OK, but the mature leaves are going brown around their edges. Quite substantially, not just the leaf margins.

Planting details: it's planted in a loam soil over clay, with a fair amount of compost (Searle's) worked in to mound it up a bit. I have been watering at least 2x per week and it's been raining, which should I thought would be good, since it's a swamp banksia. Position (west side of a fence) gets full sun from noon to ~4 pm and bright indirect light the rest of the day. After talking to a nurseryman I have worried about the compost possibly containing high phosphorus additives, but the Banksia coastal cushion and plagiocarpa planted in the same stuff and 10m away are thriving.

Necrosis on the leaf margins progressing to the centre of the leaves is indicative of K(potassium) defficieny I believe.

You ought to try puting some sulfate of potash on it.

Hmm. I never thought about potassium. I'll give that a try. Thanks.
