| I have a new eucalyptus pauciflora niphophila that I planted in full sun. It's done very well to this point and taken off. However, over the past week, it has progressively wilted and later the leaves, particularly on the lower extremity, have browned and turned crispy.
This is despite my having typically watered lightly twice per week in addition to our regular rainfall. Temperatures have been very hot as of late with high humidity. Highs are typically running 90-95 (32-35) with lows of 70-75 (21-23). Any ideas other than my poor little plant is getting scorched? I've increased the watering to daily with large amounts on the plant hoping the leaves would start to take on some life without much life.

Meanwhile my Eucalyptus paucilfora debeuvezellei is coming right along without a hitch.
Should I be watering these guys daily? Shielding them from direct sun until we get some relief in late August?
I was honestly more worried about our winters here than our summers, as we're on the borderline in zone 7A with some long snaps of cold weather (which is why I planted pauciflora). |
