Acacia iteaphylla (Flinders Range Wattle)

Hello all,

I'm thinking planting some Acacia iteaphylla's on my block at Gympie QLD as a screen plant. It is native to SA, but was wondering how it would grow in SE QLD? Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

RE: Acacia iteaphylla (Flinders Range Wattle)

Just thought I would point out that Acacia iteaphylla is an environmental weed in Western Australia. Acacia sp in general are more likely to be invasive outside their natural range within Australia than other families of plants.

As a general rule it is best to stick to local native wattles, as much as possible, of which there is a wide variety throughout Australia.

I am not familiar with this specific species but it looks to be a fairly generic looking Wattle and it should be fairly easy to find a close match among your local Acacia species.
