Growing kangaroo paws in the Middle East

| Feeling a bit homesick I'm trying to grow kangaroo paws along with other Australian natives. Will they survive the really hot temperatures we get (around 50 degrees C)? I've kept them in the shade but wonder whether I should take them inside for the summer months. |

Have worked on a kangaroo 'farm' in Queensland, Aussie. The kpaw tend to like good drainage and grow well with warm weather. No too sure about 50 degrees though...perhaps you could try one and see how it goes? Good luck. Queensland is cold and miserable at present...hope your weather is better. Karen. |

Karen, It is cold in Queensland, you got to be kidding, you should try living down here in Tasmania then you would really know what cold is. muscat trish, The Mangles KP should be ideally suited the the high temperatures of the middle east if you can get that species, I personally would give them all a go. Cheers Jim |
