Can anyone tell me when the native Wisteria Pongamia pinnata is in flower and when its seeds are ripe for collection for germination?
Many thanks Jan

Don't see that in sunny Melbourne but nonetheless I would have said that is not an australian native, perhaps native to India.

You're quite right, danili, it's Indian - and no doubt jan has found out by now that it's a tree which is creating a bit of enthusiasm (not mine, though) as an oil-producing leguminous plant capable of being used in a bio-diesel industry)
The thing more usually called native wisteria is Callerya megasperma. It's a superb climber, with a very ornamental trunk and the most beautiful seedpods. Its flowers are pretty good, too, though they won't satisfy anyone who has fallen in love with the exotic wisteria's flowers.
Cheers, Trish
