Callistemon Hybrid hedge for Brisbane.

We want a 3 to 5 metre high hedge 30 m long of a bottlebrush hybrid/mule that does not need pruning - to save the School Groundsman's time.

"Hannay Ray" may fit the bill but I think it is usually a dull pink and would prefer a red. How about Kings Park Special variant. Opinions please from those with sub tropical SE Qld & NE NSW experience? How many plants for 30 metres?

Have a look at Cal.'Gawler Hybrid', sometimes labelled 'Harkness' This is the height you are looking for and has the longest flower of the Callistemons in a bright red.It also has a semi weeping habit which is most attractive The good thing about Callistemons is they are very forgiving if you do wish to prune, bouncing back with ease.
