Can anyone suggest a reason why my Grev. Banksia has not flowered? It is several years old and has grown well. All my other grevs, flower profusely. TIA

Hi Hilaryj, It is possible that your Grevillea banksii (I think this is the correct name) has all its energy going into growth. I saw an article about this which indicated that this is so for this particular species. It grows fast and large in Qld. (Wish it would grow that fast and large here!) The suggestion was to not feed or water the plant so much if that was happening, and to attend to pruning, in particular tip pruning of branches to force out side shoots. In turn, this may be enough to stimulate flowering. You will get more flowers with the extra side shoots anyway.

G. banksii is usually grown from seed, wheras most grevs are grown from cutting, so it takes it's time before it flowers
