This morning I went for a bushwalk. There was a blanket of mist in the valley, and as always the view across to Mt Solitary took my breath away. I started thinking how lucky I am, and how lucky we all are, to live in such a beautiful country.
But there is a group of Australians really doing it tough at the moment. They are our farmers, graziers and business people in the bush. Lets hope the rain forcast for this weekend really does fall where predicted i.e. west of the Divide. |

Yes it is truely tough in the west I hope that there is a solution to OUR problem I was listening to Nova when they had a expert on climatic change he said that this weather is due to climatic change and to get use to it Thats why I think that this forum is special because most people who come here to talk are here because they want to contribute to a better australia throuh greening there yard with plants that will help the fauna as well But saying that the farmers may have contributed to there problems indirectly by destroy dry eucalypts forests to graze cattle as early settlers causing slow climatic change I feel deeply about this issue because we can all make a difference even if we feel that it is insignificant As a elder once said to me "a beach always starts with one grain of sand" we as native gardeners are those grains of sand. |
