Australian Paw Plant Emerald Bush

The flowers on my Australian Paw plant, Emerald Bush, have changed from Red/Green to an unsightly yellow. I've researched online to no avail. Any ideas/thoughts as to why this is happening? Thanks!

RE: Australian Paw Plant Emerald Bush

many pretty flowers are 'sports' or special mutations. sometimes the plant 'reverts' to its species form. I suspect this is what has happened to yours. If you don't like it, dig it out and plant a new on. The one at our front door is a dull yellow too, perhaps it was meant to be something else. I've never heard of this happening though.

cymbidiums are notorious for this apparently.

another possibility is that these are just the dead flowers.
