 o
soil for lizard and plants?

ok guys, i've got a weird question. alright, i have a bearded dragon (a type of lizard). i would love to combine my 2 loves and put reptiles and plants together! i've read up on it and found out its ok and wont be harmful to the plants or the animal. so here's my question: i would like to know if anyone can give me a good soil mixture for the vivarium. they are from central austrailia and New Guinea. They prefer "semi-arid to arid woodland habitats". i would need something that will be pretty tightly packed so he wont russle it up or eat it. but will need it to stay pretty dry because that's what it's like where they live! i dunno if anyone will be able to help me out, but thanks for the efforts!

RE: soil for lizard and plants?

if you contact the Australian Herpetological society for advice (follow link to their website below), Im sure they would know about keeping bearded dragons.

Here is a link that might be useful: AHS
