flowers that bloom in march and december

Hi, I am researching native flowers and blossoms for a tattoo design.
Each flower represents the month of my children's births. So far I have gum blossoms for September and Brown Boronia for August. Native Rhododendron represents March and Christmas Bells, December, however I am looking at alternatives to these two. ( My 15 year old daughter is less than enthused with the Rhododendron, not sure why)

Can anyone help?

Also, does anyone have a good image/photo of a blue banded bee?

Thanks for any help,

Leanne

They differ from place to place, of course - and according to when the rain falls, but here are some possibles, Leanne:
December: Hibiscus heterophyllus
March: Stenocarpus sinuatus
The September choices are legion! What about Prostantheras or Violas. Do Sarchochilus flower early enough down there?
Best of luck
Trish

Trish, thanks for your reply. I love the Hibiscus in place of Christmas Bells and hope Dani likes the FireWheel flowers! You are currently batting 2 for 2, how about a alternative for Brown Boronia! = D
I am happy with Gum Blossoms for September ; )

Oh, btw....my daughter really likes the FireWheel flowers, there are a little unusual and definately stand out from the 'crowd' - just like her!

Still hoping for some suggestions for August blooms.

Cheers,
Leanne

Lots of Acacia and Hakea species flower over Winter and August should not be a problem. Also I have Grevillea flowering now.
