A product to protect a torn branch

My puppy has ripped a branch off my Eremophila Glabra "Murchison Magic".

What can I "paint" on the "wound" to stop any diseases?

Grafting wax should be available from your local nursery. Depending on the diameter of the branch, you could just cut it off with sharp secateurs, or even saw it off with a pruning saw.
