germinating Flindersia australis seeds?

| any special tips on what to look for in viable seeds and how to germinate them?

Len, they are pretty straight forward, just lightly cover them with media and keep moist, upon germination they look like green butterfly wings. Really no trick to them, but maybe you would like to soak them overnight to prompt water uptake. The seeds can often be confused with the placental attachment within the pods however these are easily broken in half whilst the true seeds are flexible and have the swollen ovary in the middle of the wind dispersed seed.
