Anyone else have a Wollemi Pine yet?

Was wondering whether anyone else in OZ other than myself has bought a Wollemi pine yet.On "Trees and Shrubs" forum, Tony (Wollemia tc) said he has one and I bought mine last week but has anybody else bought one since they are now available in a few hundred locations in Australia.Being a conifer fan and Wollemia being an Australia native as well I am so happy to have the opportunity to aquire one (actually I bought 2) after a 12 year wait from original discovery to my purchase.

I have a friend whose daughter pre-ordered her one for Christmas. It would be terrific if a few more of our endangered plants got the publicity that this baby has!

Two weeks ago I was at Kuranga Nursery in Mt Evelyn in Melbourne's east and saw that they are holding good stocks of Wollemi Pine. Although very nice plants I think they would be too big for my suburban block. In a roomy situation they would look superb.

I agree with you liatris, pity not more endangered species got the wrap that Wollemi did, but we can all do our bit by growing something ourselves in our gardens.

I saw some the other day in a nursery , I didn't have $55 in my purse but a friend bought one and he is going to Bonsai it as he has a very small yard and lots of other bonsaied trees.

Personally I would like one to just grow in the ground.
time will tell if I get one as our ground is very ordinary and lots of plants just don't do too well here.

Marrion! Ask your friend for his off-cuts, perhaps?!

Yes, I have three now.
I will keep mine in pots for a few years and propagate as many of them from cuttings as I can.
