Seed scarification

Howdy.

I'm scarifying some Acacia, Pultenaea and Dianella seed with boiling water. A couple species of acacias have swollen up so I'll whack them in tomorrow. Should I redo the ones that haven't swollen until they do? Should I redo them until most of the seeds are swollen? Are they likely not to swell up? Will I harm seeds that have already swollen if I rescarify them with boiling water?

This is only my second attempt at scarification after the first one wasn't successful. Any feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

Matt.

RE: Seed scarification

Don't redo those that have swollen. For the others why not either nick them with a knife or rub them with sandpaper. For the Pultanaea be careful with the boiling water as the seed is small amd might cook! Remove them after a short period. Good luck!!!
