transporting plants interstate

Hi all, might sound like a silly question, but i'm heading east later in the year and would like to try and get some banksias, correas and grevilleas that i am having trouble locating here in SA. Are there any restrictions on flying interstate with cuttings if they are in a sealed bag? I don't think i can transport potplants without them getting ruined, unless i drive home which isn't really an option. Any ideas would be appreciated!

I don't think transporting cuttings from the eastern states is a problem that I'm aware of as there is no declaration you have to fill out.

go to the AQIS site and check what they say, i have heard SA has some stringent rules on bringing in plant material from anywhere.

if nothing else you will be fore warned and fore armed, and can calculate the risk factor of you being caught, but there is always a bit of ned kelly in all of us so the best protection they can mount can always be circumvented hey chuckle?

I've just received 13 banksias and eremophilas from a mail order firm in Victoria and they all arrived ok, in tubestock, and I guess they came by air. Sent through Australia post! No problems, plants took a week to traval and all are in good condition.
