Kennedia nigricans from seed?

Has anyone grown kennedia nigricans from seed?

I've not had any luck finding anyone in the US (online) where I can order this plant. However, I did find one place I could order the seeds for about $4.00. A friend told me he tried once and could not get the seed to germinate. I'm not sure how much it would be to order the plant and have it shipped to the US ...

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The seed needs to be scarified. Either pour boiling water over the seed and sow the swollen ones the next day or alternatively, nick the seeds with a blade or rub with sandpaper or a file to break/damage the seed coat.

I had no trouble just sowing them directly into punnets, just for your information. I got 80% germination in my greenhouse. I suspect that soil temperature is significant, and pea seeds seem particularly susceptable to seed mould. (Perhaps the boiling water is more to kill off the mould than anything else - a 10% bleach solution soaking for a few minutes works fine on these tough seeds.

(My seeds were bought from a nursery in a packet, so the fresh seed principle doesn't seem to apply here)

My soil temperature was about 27C. Currently I'm getting 25C or so in greenhouse, so it's probably worth trying now.
