Bracteantha Cuttings

A few weeks ago I took some cuttings of a particularly pretty bracteantha. Since I hadn't taken cuttings of this plant before, I took both tip and semi-hard cuttings. Again, not knowing which would be best, I covered some and left some uncovered. Unfortunately, they have all rotted off.
If it's not too late I'd like to try again, but would welcome some advice before I waste anymore cuttings. Can anyone help?
Thanks, WB. |

| Take fresh tips with about 4cm of stem. Put them in a very well drained mix in full sun and water them regularly. I get 100% strike rate with this in my greenhouse. They enjoy a good dose of 1:1:1 fertilizer. Make sure the plant is actually growing when to take the cuttings - bracteantha/xerochrysum stop growing depending on the weather. You can prune them hard and they will reflower. |

| Thanks Nathan. I suppose you guessed I'd put them in the shade. I'll try again and this time put them in the sun. |
