Should I trim heat damaged plants ?

Should I trim the damaged fronds off my ferns ? I spose its for cosmetic reasons.

As I see it, you're probably best off leaving them as is to protect the others until the heatwave is over.

g'day popi,

can't see why not could also relieve the tree of some extra heat stress by removing foliage, i think for the main trees do this as part of the survival process.

I agree with liatris - burnt leaves act like a wind break and shade cloth for the undergrowth. Leave it there until autumn. I think we kill a lot of plants by coddling them too much over summer. Better to let their own smarter defences protect them.

Many thanks everyone....I have decided it makes sense to leave the burnt fronds on my ferns as they would protect other growth.
