Has anyone had any experience with the espeliar of natives?

Someone I know in Sydney was doing a good job with Banksia integrifolia (very hardy, long rangy growth and quick grower)

I have an espalier'd Nothofagus cunninghamii which looks great. It grew (until recently) in a plastic gutter on a south facing wall.

You should be able to espalier anything that likes pruning (almost anything). Grevilleas are great.
