Collecting coriander pods

Posted by Raymondo NSW Aust (My Page) on

I have all this coriander that has gone to seed and I would like to collect the pods both for growing more and eating.
Should I leave the plants in situ until the pods go brown and dry out or can you pick the stalks while still green and hang them somewhere?

RE: Collecting coriander pods

Raymondo... leave them in situ until they at least start to dry out, or you're convinced they are fully developed. If the seed are not mature before drying obviously they won't be viable. I have some at a similar stage in my garden right now. I was hoping to leave them until they were starting to dry out before harvesting, but something seems to be eating them! Watch out for that, and good luck...
