Is anyone growing lime balm (melissa)? I have lime thyme, but can't really detect any lime fragrance, and am wondering whether lime balm is actually different from the ordinary lemon balm.
What about lime verbena? |

| I have both lemon balm and lime balm, and I detect a very strong lime flavour and perfume to the lime balm, quite different from the lemon balm, from which it is derived. Crush the leaves, first smell one, then the other, and I'm sure you'll notice the difference. Treat and use them in exactly the same ways. If your nose and taste buds don't co-operate, try kaffir lime leaves - but they are best used fresh. I haven't heard of a lime verbena, but if somebody invents it, I want one! |

| Daisy, Marshall's Nursery (www.herbsalive.com.au) have Lime Verbena listed in their catalogue. |
