Aconitum (monkshood)

Does anyone grow this plant? I recently aquired one and have put it in a semi-shade position in rich soil. I was happy to see it double in size in a matter of days after planting. I'd like to hear other people experiences with monkshoood so I can get to know its personality better.

My little monkshood is happily growing in a shaded spot in my greenhouse. It grows quickly, but not quite so quickly as yours. Sounds like yours is happy.

I loved my monkshood but lost it when I moved last year. Although possibly my mother still has a bit of it growing (must remember to check).

I grew mine in a pot -- one flower stalk the first year, then two the next year than lots the following year. It was such an enthusicastic little plant.

Years ago, I also had one with splotched leaves but I haven't seen that for sale ever since.

I've just germinated some seed so will not panic if it slow to grow in a pot.
