Oregano lost flavour?

My Oregano has all new growth and the old growth has been used up. It is a few years old now and all the new growth has absolutely 'NO' flavour or smell.
Why?
Could it be too much cow manure, too new, what??
The new growth appeared long before winter was upon us so I don't think it could be that. |
