 o
Bryophyllum Gastonis Bonnier

My brother in Ecuador is eating a piece of this cactus every day to help him with his damaged heart. (A heart attack nearly killed him about a year ago and he has only 15 to 22% of heart function left)
I tried track down this cactus and after countless false leads, the riddle has at last been solved: Its Ecuadorian name: "Dulcamare" is: Bryophyllum Gastonis Bonnier. I finally got to the right sites through Google......
On the Ecuadorian site they claim that it cures cancer, HIV and diabetes..... but the picture of the local researcher doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence.
I haven't found any comprehensive English site on the medicinal use of this plant (yet).
Apparently a common name for it is: Donkey ears.

I have found a supplier in Qld. but he has a minimum order of $30.00 policy and I would have to buy 8 plants, which is a bit over the top just for a trial planting.

Has anyone had any experience with this plant or know of a source for it?
