I have lots of chillies. Can you freeze them? If so, any special way?

RE: Freezing of Chillies?

hi jdwoolno, Short answer is yes. I freeze lots of chillies every year. I have loads from last summer and am still using them in cooking, they last years in the freezer in perfect condition. All I do is put them into freezer bags or air-tight tupperware containers.

Cheers,
Jamus

I put mine into plastic bags to freeze them. No blanching required. The thing I like about members of the capsicum family is that after they've thawed out, they still remain crunchy!

Brilliant, just what I need to know. I have so many chillis, they are coming out of my ears....and to hear that they retain there crispiness after freezing, thats wonderful.

I am going to get picking, right now!

Thanks for the info.
