Soak feet in a bowl of warm water and a cup of vinegar. Dry and dust with talcum powder. OR Soak feet in a solution of one handful of salt to about 5 litres of water (as hot as you can bear) until the water is cool. Rub with a rough towel, rubbing only in an upward direction. ROSEMARY FOOTBATH: 3 tablespoons Epsom salts 2 tablespoons bicarbonate of soda 3 drops rosemary oil 3 tablespoons cooking salt Mix all ingredients in a bowl of hot water. Soak the feet for 20 minutes. Wonderful for tired, aching feet. Avon has a product called Footworks cooling gel, and Nutrimetics has one called Aromatherapy Foot Balm. Both are very effective - the Foot Balm has peppermint in it. I use it after a heavy night's dancing (I teach it). I hobble inside when I get home, rub some of this stuff in, rest for a while, then waltz off to bed. You could probably make your own peppercream ointment, or you could use mint or thyme instead of rosemary in the above treatment. If you have a foot spa, you could add the essential oils of these herbs to the water. |

| Pennyroyal oil is also excellent for treating tired aching feet. I have posted an interesting article regarding penny royal below... |

| James, there have been many such tests performed, and many different results amongst the experiments. Safety of herbs is a contentious issue. I've seen what pennyroyal can do to susceptible people, and that's enough for me. I think it's only fair to warn people about potential dangers as well as actual ones, and let the individual make his/her own choices. My choice, based on wide research and personal experience, is to avoid pennyroyal like the plague. Caution being the better part of valour. |

| how about putting some aloe jelly on your feet and put them (feet) next to a fan. It works wonders for me. Aloe comes from my garden narturally. |

Speaking of feet, I recall my mother being given a "recipe" for using comfrey, blended up to a paste and spread over the offending body part, I can't remember what the injury was. In our case I think the body part was feet...only slightly less revolting than onion socks? Anyone out there heard of these two remedies? Better still, anyone remember what they're supposed to do? |
