Hello all,
I'd like to put this plant in my garden and have seen it around Brisbane. Could anyone identify this? Many thanks for looking.

It is Nerium oleander, commonly called Oleander. Tough as old harry and undervalued. Easy to grow and drought tolerant. Reputed to be poisonous but I believe it to be unpleasant to eat.
More details on the net.

Heh heh! That's great Arthurm. I am in complete agreement! Right, I'll go look it up. Thanks a million.

RE: Plant Identification

Yes, and in the sub-tropics they look good. You know you can also train them to grow as a single truck tree simply by cutting away at ground level any extra shoots. You need to do it for a few years but eventually you can produce an attractive single truck tree. The sticky sap though as you prune is something you have to put up with - just don't suck your fingers clean! They are also very easy to propagate from cuttings.
