What is the climate like in Sydney's suburbs? How cold does it get in winter? I know it's sub-tropical, but are you able to grow bananas there for example?
do temperature ever go below 0³c.
I have an uncle there, he's telling that he's growing a mango tree in his garden, is this typical for sydney area?
I'll be traveling to Sydney in January. I live in a cold part of that states.

Sydney more or less has subtropical summers and temperate winters. Often in summer there can be 10C difference in the maximum temperature across the city (which is about 100km wide) - the coastal areas often get sea breezes which keeps the temperature down. You can definitely grow mangos, banannas, pawpaws etc, as long as you plant them in a sunny area and protect them from frost (some parts of Western Sydney will get frost in winter, but these are mostly on the Cumberland Plains).
